I wasn’t around when the printing press was invented, but I imagine it was seen by some as a threat to society. It certainly was a catalyst for change, and it hasn’t gone away.

AI is today’s printing press. It can be used for good, and it can be used for bad, and it will be used for both. Can humans adapt? Can we coexist with the speed of deception and information propagation that AI brings us?

I’m optimistic we can, but it’s new territory and the government needs to provide oversight and guidance as we navigate the path forward.

My goal as your congressman is to move thoughtfully and deliberately regarding AI. Let’s capitalize on its benefits and mitigate the danger as we settle into a relationship as we have with the printing press.
